Many mental health professionals are understanding the necessity of addressing trauma with a myriad of clients. This webinar will review some foundational constructs of trauma including neuroanatomy and provide creative interventions based on music, art, dance and drama. Along with some practical techniques that can be used immediately, participants will also receive additional resources for further study.
Many mental health professionals are understanding the necessity of addressing trauma with a myriad of clients. This webinar will review some foundational constructs of trauma including neuroanatomy and provide creative interventions based on music, art, dance and drama.

1. Understand the constructs of trauma work including PTSD and neuroanatomy. 2. Learn ethical and culturally appropriate adaptations of treatments. 3. Apply creative interventions based on music, art, dance and drama for individuals dealing with trauma. 4. Access additional resources and research for additional training. Joffrey S. Suprina, PhD is the Department Chair and a Professor of Counselor Education at the National Louis University Tampa campus. As a practitioner scholar, Dr. Suprina is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) and supervisor who has worked with a wide variety of clients and supervisees in a myriad of settings including university counseling centers, psychiatric hospitals, clinics and private practice. In addition to being an LMHC, he is also a hypnotherapist, massage therapist, musician, dancer, actor and director. Dr. Suprina regularly presents with over 100 professional presentations, workshops and guest lectures, has published in a variety of professional journals and books and is the founder and Editor of The Practitioner Scholar: Journal of Counseling and Professional Psychology that recently became The Practitioner Scholar: Journal of the International Trauma Training Institute. His practice and research areas of expertise include holistic wellness, LGBT issues, multiculturalism, addiction and trauma. Angela Brinton received her doctorate in Counselor Education & Supervision (CES) at National Louis University. She has been functioning in the capacity of a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 2012 with expertise in adolescent mental health and family therapy. She launched SCOPE-LLC in 2015 with the vision of bridging the gap between community and school by integrating services with a holistic body, mind, emotion, and spirit approach that focuses on developing an overall wellness. Angela committed over ten years to early childhood and elementary education where she worked with a wide age-range and socio-economic level of children. She expanded her teaching experience in 2018 to include higher education where she serves as an adjunct professor in counselor education programs. She has developed and taught courses on grief and trauma. Her teaching experience also includes professional ethics, assessment, diagnosis, family therapy, and internship. Her current specialization is in mindfulness-based clinical interventions, grief, and trauma informed counseling.
