    Hello Aaron,

I have recently closed my counseling practice of 32 years. I am maintaining my counseling license and I have pivoted to Coaching.  As a Certified Mentor Coach (ICF accredited training program based in Maryland)  I offer personal and professional coaching.

If you are interviewing people for a good fit for the potential coachee, I would be happy to talk with you.  Here is my website: www.myturningforce.com.  Let me know if I can be of any help.

    Best,

    Sushama

    Aaron,

I know a number of coaches who could be good fit but my preference would be to talk to him first to get some specifics so I might be able to match him accordingly.

The world of coaching can be tricky because are so many "coaches" but so few that are actually high quality (imho).

I'd be happy to chat with him. Or you could refer him to the ICF website https://coachingfederation.org/ where he could do some his own research.

Curious that he'd contact a therapist, but I've had that happen a few times. Still curious...

    Hello, everyone.

Does anyone know a high-quality life coach in the Tampa Bay Area who they like to refer to who is NOT a licensed professional?

    Here's the background...

A colleague referred a family friend to me for therapy.  The prospective client is a middle aged high-functioning executive who very much wants to meet with someone for some guidance, direction, and advice through private pay but respectfully indicates that he does not wish there to be any record of his involvement with the therapist.  I empathized with and validated his desire for privacy but explained to him why I cannot accommodate that request as a LMHC and LMFT from a legal, ethical, and clinical perspective.  I told him that as I see it he would have at least 3 options: (1) meet with a life coach who is not required to keep a health record but accept that if he requires therapy for a disorder or serious mental issue than the life coach would not be qualified to help him; (2) meet with a clergy member for advice; or (3) re-examine his discomfort with a record, perhaps through education on confidentiality, etc. and reconsider whether it is truly worth him to avoid seeing a therapist for that reason.  He elected option #1 for now and asked for a referral, but the only folks I know who do life coaching are also licensed therapists.  It's not my job to link him to a life coach, of course, but it is interesting to me that I don't know any, and I think it would be helpful to find out who others refer to for the future.

    Thanks for your ideas!
