Hello everyone!

From time to time I am alerted to one or two day on demand counseling events here in Florida. Most of these are in the Tampa Bay Area, with some occasionally in Orlando. I spoke to the board about alerting our members to these events, and going forward I will post them here for you all to determine if you would like to respond and attend. Please contact Kathy Bennett directly with questions, as she knows the program in and out and is a great resource.

Dear Counselor:       

Magellan Healthcare, Inc. is staffing this On Demand MFLC (Military & Family Life Counseling) Event in your area with both adult and child/youth counselors.  On Demand assignments are short term events and may include providing non-medical counseling, educational briefings dealing with issues such as deployment and reintegration, grief and loss, or possibly manning a resource booth or table.

The following are the known details of the upcoming event; however, they may change at any time at the request of the Department of Defense:

Date:                                     Saturday, March 23, 2019                       Sunday, March 24, 2019

Time:                                     12;00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.                            12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Location:                              US Army Reserve Center, 1420 Beach Drive SE, St. Petersburg FL 33701

Event Type:                         Deployment

Details:                                 Event Coordinator is asking for non-medical counseling, program overview, and presentations at a non-mandatory adult and CYB event with the possibility of 240 people in attendance.

You must be licensed in the state of the event.

Please respond with your availability whether you are able to staff the event or not as a LOCAL(within a 50 mile radius) counselor.  INDICATE WHETHER YOU PREFER ADULT, CHILD/YOUTH, OR EITHER. 

If you have not been scheduled for an event with Magellan in the past, please indicate whether you have MFLC experience.  The staffing requirements and times for this event may be reduced or modified thereby reducing our staffing requirements.
