    Ken,

Thank you so much! I am still looking for a place to put my skills and training to work in the area. The biggest challenge so far has been finding the opportunities open to registered interns amid the postings looking for licensed therapists. I welcome conversations and connections with those looking to expand their practice or add some new energy to their mental health provider teams - My number one goal at this stage is definitely working toward those licensure hours!

I'm also looking forward to meeting more among SMHCA.

    Warmly,

    Kathleen

    Hi Kathleen

And welcome as well, to both Florida and SMHCA. In addition to the SMHCA social media pages and groups, there many others for MHP on FB and LI that are quite active. Are working? Figured out where to take the classes you need? I’ve heard good things about Lesley. There many Psychodramatists in the Tampa Bay Area you might want to look into.  They also have a FB group. If there’s something we can do, just ask. We’re a very large and strong group.

    Be well

    Ken

Thank you, Jay! It's different for sure, and I'm all over the social media sites too. I'll make sure I'm connected. I just got confirmation of my RMHCI, and I'm raring to go!

Hi Kathleen.  Welcome to Florida!  And welcome the SMHCA.  I'm a member of the SMHCA Board and I'm not in that "in between' place, but I think you have come to the right place to make connections.  If you haven't checked it out yet, SMHCA also has a LinkedIn page as well as other social media sites.  I hope you get some responses from other members and I look forward to "seeing you" at one of our upcoming online events.

    Hi everyone!

I'm a new member and in that awkward in-between stage, professionally speaking. I graduated in May 2020 from Lesley University in Massachusetts with a master's degree in mental health counseling specializing in drama therapy. I've got a few credits to pick up in Florida to fulfill licensure requirements that are a little different state to state, and I'm out here networking and looking for opportunities.

All of that feels much different these days, not meeting up in person or having the existing contacts pre-graduation. If anyone else out there is in a similar in-between things boat, I'd love to chat!

Hit me up on this forum, or connect with me on LinkedIn.

    Warmly,

    Kathleen Moye, MA
