Parliamentarian

A. Parliamentarian – nonvoting The Parliamentarian will serve as an advisor to the President and the Board regarding parliamentary procedures and be responsible for ensuring meetings follow the process outlined by “Robert’s Rules of Order.” Rules of Order for Board Meetings

Duties of the Parliamentarian:

·      Attend all Board meetings or identify a knowledgeable designee for any absences.

·      Make sure minutes of the meeting are being recorded.

·      Assist the President with managing the meeting.

·      Act as advisor on the bylaws. https://suncoastmhca.org/By-laws

·      Verify whether a quorum for voting has been met. (see bylaws definition of quorum and use “Working Blank Board        Quorum” spreadsheet for verification)

·      If any eligible voter has given their proxy, identify whose vote is proxied and to whom it is given for the minutes.

·      Ensure voting rules/procedures are followed.

·      Facilitate a committee for the annual review of bylaws and update them every 4 years or as needed.
